Construction Update, Week of April 29, 2013

The interior space of the building continues to take shape. Drywall and taping is complete on 2nd floor and painting has commenced. The restrooms have been rocked, taped and plumbing rough-in complete ready for tile to start next week. The Town Hall hard-lid ceiling has been framed, AV equipment infrastructure in place, above ceiling inspections complete and its ready to be sheetrocked at the end of this week. Installation of the single hydraulic elevator continues, with completion expected at the end of the week. Vestibule glass has been set, with the aluminum door installation to follow. With a break in precipitation, grading opperations have commenced in the courtyard and on the east and north sides of the building.

Construction Update - Week of April 8, 2013

Activity onsite continues at a feverish pace. The exterior glass systems are near 100%, with only the vestibule remaining. The TPO membrane installation is complete at the building and vestibule, the roofers will be back in a couple weeks to complete the required metal flashing.

Most of the activity has now turned to the interior. Metal stud framing at the interior and exterior walls are complete on 2nd floor and near complete  on 1st floor. Framing is well underway at the soffits and hard-lid ceilings. Drywall and taping has commenced on 2nd floor, painters to start in the next few weeks.

Construction Update - Week of March 11, 2013

Work continues both at the exterior and interior of the building. As the canopy framing and sheathing continue, the waterproofer is close behind, sealing these roof elements in preparation of metal panels.

The roofers are continue with the TPO membrane installation at the main roof; once complete they will focus their efforts on the vestibule roof.

Construction Update - Week of February 4, 2013

Precast is in its final week of erection, as the south, east and west elevations are all nearing completion. The glazers continue to field measure openings to receive aluminum frames. The north elevation curtainwall will be ready for glass early next week. Framing and blocking continues at the roof parapet and vestibule roof line. As soon as the roof element frame is in place on the south and east elevations, sheathing and waterproofing will commence with TPO roofing membrane installation to follow.

Construction Update - Week of January 28, 2013

Work continues to progress onsite as the building starts to really take shape. About 30 pieces of precast remain to be set on the South, East and West elevations. Glazing installation commenced on the north elevation this week as the glazers took field measurements, welded clips, and started installing the storefront aluminum framing. Carpenters have been laying track and framing walls on the 2nd floor as well as framing for the roof features at the SE corner and on the north end of the building.

Construction Update - Week of January 7, 2013

The new year brings new activities onsite, Precast! Precast erection has commenced, with the mobilization of the 250 ton crane. The first piece set was a column cover on the north elevation.

The steel frame for the 'grand staircase' continues to progress. This will function as the primary means of vertical circulation as well as a seating platform for informal meetings.
